Kindergarten

Overview

We offer 2, 3, and 5 full and half day programs for children 18 months and above at both schools, and 2, 3, and 5 full day programs for infants. Occasionally, we can fulflll a request for an unusal schedule, so please ask! Our 3 day schedule is Monday through Wednesday and our 2 day schedule is Thursday/Friday.

Our hours are 7-7 at Princeton and 7-6 at Foxmoor, with limited school closings – only major legal holidays; no week long closures. Two or three snacks are included in tuition (depending on the length of the child’s day with us). Diapers and wipes are also included in the cost of tuition.

Check with us about “back-up care” for your child. With proper notice, we can accommodate most requests for extra days of care if your child is not full time with us. Many corporations provide “Back-Up Care Advantage” for their employees, a subsidy for occasional child care services. Children over 18 months and up to age 9 can use this service.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is offered at our Princeton location. Our small group program allows a level of teacher-child interaction that is not probable in other settings. The student body is a combination of Harmony graduates and new friends from other area schools. A full dayKindergarten allows enough time for academics and socialization, and the children expand their world knowledge through their subscription to “Time for Kids,” the Kindergarten version of Time Magazine, which includes online activities to reinforce concepts. Our broader interaction with community expands as well, with the proximity of the Windrows and Pavilions, senior living communities within a block of our school. Kindergarten students have learned to knit, are read to and are read to by our neighbors, and sing together at the holidays. Like their Pre-K counterparts, they take field trips at least four times per year. Most of our graduates enter wonderful first grade programs, though we encourage parents to plan ahead to insure that their  child will meet the age requirements for the elementary school program of their choice.
